Profiles: White Swan Inn

White Swan Inn

The White Swan Inn serves up White Lake Blueberry Muffins for its guests.

Built circa 1884 for a sawmill owner, the White Swan Inn is a Queen Anne-style home surrounded by mature maple trees and lily of the valley beds. The inn serves as a bed and breakfast for tourists and business visitors. Owner Cathy Russell provides recommendations of local restaurants for visitors to sample the area cuisine. Some of the Inn's packages include dinner at Scale's Fish House and Steaks, whose menu includes seasonal walleye and whitefish.

Each morning, Cathy produces her resounding breakfasts including her two favorite recipes: White Lake Blueberry Muffins and Ham and Cheese Crescents. She also provided Whitehall's submission for the statewide recipe contest: Asparagus and Red Pepper Tart.
